MIYAKO’S TIARA
last minute fitting at home last night… Riyo decided to wear this Gucci black-beaded gown which weight 3 kilos (!!) to attend next week, the formal dinner hosted by the Governor of Mexico in his residence.
She looked so amazing that I went to take the tiara made by Mikimoto in 2003 for Miyako Miyazaki when she won the title in Japan, and put it on her head.
She already looked like Miss Universe, also I took this picture!
We only used this tiara, smaller than the real Miss Universe one, for one year in fact because our tiara sponsor changed from Mikimoto to Samantha Tiara in 2004. The first tiara by Samantha Tiara was designed by actress Asaka Seiko, the second year by supermodel Ebi chan. This year Kurara crowned Riyo. I hope that Zuleyka will be the next one to crown her on May 28th!
DRESS TO IMPRESS
Riyo chose this GUCCi gown for her evening gown photo for the Miss Universe official website as well as for the official program. She will also wear it for the National Gift dinner auction, where she will offer an antique Japanese Obi, made of silk with lots of vibrant colors. (an obi is a belt used to hold a kimono, or to wear as a fashion accessory). Also I use obis as a home furniture decoration.
This pictures were taken last night during our last minute fittings. Riyo is now in the plane on her way to Mexico!
