  Message from Sayo:  Hi Ines！。゜+.(・∀・)゜+.゜ I just came back home now after spending the afternoon at the gym. I had lots of fun today running the 53 floors this morning but I feel really tired now!! While running the stairs this morning I really thought I might die, but I was able to finish the race at the end. I am proud of myself for not giving up! Tomorrow at the Ritz Carlton, the finalists will be climbing 53 floors of the Tokyo Midtown Tower, together with me.

- Everyone will gather at 10:00am at the Ritz-Carlton entrance.

- The finalists will go change in the President Suite.

- The finalists will run up and down the stairs to the 53^rd floor.

- The finalists will make their way back to the Preseidential Suite as the “finish line”

- The girls who make it back will be presented with an award by Anna Sado and Maiko Kitagawa, last year’s finalists. (a Samantha Tiara dog tag, silver with their initials encrusted in diamonds).

《ミート・ザ・ペアレンツ》 This past Sunday, we shot my new book cover for a magazine advertisement early in the morning together with the 11 finalists in a studio in Ginza, Tokyo. Then I drove back home to prepare my home to receive all the finalists’s parents for the afternoon. 日曜日は朝から私の新しい本の雑誌広告用に、11名のファイナリストたちと銀座のスタジオで撮影。 撮影が終わるとすぐに家に戻り、午後に行われるファイナリストのご両親たちとのミーティング準備に取り掛かりました。 It was interesting to see the resemblances between the finalists and their parents, so sweet! Most spectacular resemblances were Kana and her mom, and also Chie and her dad! 彼女たちとご両親たちはとてもそっくりで、それを眺めるのは興味深く、とても楽しかったです。 特に似ていたのは、カナと彼女のお母さん、それからチエと彼女のお父さんです！ above from left: Yukari’s parents; Chie’s parents; Moe’s parents; Rui’s mother. Her Dad is a high school English teacher and joked that she speaks better English than he does! カナがご両親を紹介してくれているところです。彼女のお父さんは高校で英語教師をしています。「娘さんはお父さんよりも英語が上手ですね。」なんて冗談を言いました！ Giving my little MUJ-gifts to each parents. 私からご両親たちへ「ミス・ユニバース・ジャパン・ギフト」の進呈です。 Almost at the end, each finalist spoke to their parents and told them what she wants to do in 5 years. It was very interesting for the parents to see how much motivation each of them has now and how much they improved. I could see that they were so proud and have started to view their daughters as young women instead of children. ミーティングも終わりに近づいた頃、それぞれのファイナリストたちがご両親に向かって「5年後、どんな自分になっていたいか」を語りました。 それは、彼女たちのモチベーションや、どれだけ努力して自分を磨いてきたかを垣間見ることのできる、とても興味深い時間でした。 そしてご両親たちも、自分の娘を「子供」から一人の「女性」として考え始め、彼女たちを誇りに思う姿を見ることができました。 Each parent applauded with huge, happy smiles on their faces and they congratulated their own daughters after they spoke – it was moving to see everybody so happy. Then the parents asked me so many questions about how to help their daughters improve. Banzaii!!!!!! I love you parents-sama!! Thank you for your support and for helping me prepare your daughters to compete in front of the world, and to demonstrate that Japanese beauty is the best. Let’s give our best! Hello, Ines!! I read your book and was shocked!In fact I did not know about Miss Universe very much. On the contrary, I mistook “Universe” for “University”  and thought that it was a book toward university students! But while I read your book I got interested about Miss Universe very much! And about Riyo Mori!! She is my admiration! I want to become her sometime too!

And I was just so happy to know that you published a book!!!                                        I’m sorry to say this, but I sometimes felt we petite (I’m 5′2″ by the way) even can’t be a apart of you beautiful ladies. And feeling this disappointnent is very sad because I’m very avarice to learn as well!!! So, as you published this book is a gift for me. This is going to be a my “Beauty Bible”!!!
