We attended with my husband the HSBC Women’s Champions tournament on Friday.

And the winner is….. Japan’s Ai Miyazato!!!! On Sunday Ai chan won the 1.3-million-dollar HSBC Women’s Champions tournament in Singapore to continue her sparkling start to the USLPGA season with a second straight title.

It was amazing to be, the all time, only a few meters away from the top pro-stars (USA: Michelle Wee, Japan: Ai Miyazato & South Korean:  Kim Song-Hee.

Michelle was so gracious the 2 days we went. She was wearing a mini-skirt with a curve showing top, and a flower on her left ear. She looks like a top-model, her legs are so long, she is 6 feet tall…. Her body is amazing.

Michelle is so much taller than the other women pro-golfer in her category. She went to the same school as my husband (Punahou in Honolulu. Actually Ken was at the same time than USA President Barack Obama. But in different grades, Obama being older than Ken…. Ken remembers him perfectly.

A perfect weekend with my boys in Singapore, we went rock climbing,  (Luca left and Noa right. Their brother Ben was France High-school rock-climbing champion). Also it is kind of a passion in the family.

While we try to teach our children all about life,

Our children teach us what life is all about.

The polo Club in Singapore is the ultimate, the horses are magnificent-noble and we love having a drink late in the afternoon looking at the sunset while the horses are walking around in the huge green grass field. Afternoon horse-riding after the heat cools down is best. I love sharing my passion with my kids. I cannot wait starting playing polo, when my back is cured. The doctor said from September, I can horse-ride again…. so far away!

New Silk Road Model Agency brought 40 Top Models to Taiwan and inviting us to attend all the events.

Together with Hiroko Mima, we attended a Fashion show inside the Pavilion of New Fashion in center of Taipei, (a green building constructed from PET bottles !!!). A fantastic bridal fashion show starring top models from the PRC on February 15, was staged and we were welcomed by numerous photographers taking countless pictures. Actually one of them literally felt of on me… with my broken back soon to be better, I quite freaked out!And my Japanese friend, Yoko Chang, who was seated next to me, almost smashed his head with her back. Thanks super Yoko!

Zhang Zilin, (the first Miss World of Chinese origin), was among the group of 40 supermodels appearing at the fashion show.She apeared with a tan and a bright orange gown, she was all smile and looking at everybody in the audience from her seat. Very graceful indeed.

The 40 models showcased 25 extravagant wedding dresses on the runway, some of them really amazing, attracting the attention of countless spectators whom were visiting the expo even though the cold weather.  Too bad that I could spot some big underwear under the body cuddling fabric on some of the models. Apparently, there is some improvement to be done in the underwear department in China still……

The dresses were the unique work of Taiwanese designer and stylist Li Ming-chuan. According to the designer, these dresses were designed specifically for the 2010 Taipei International Flora Expo where people could admire countless fields of colorful tulips.

What is that the models strut their stuff, their expressions are terrifying: “Leave me alone,” “I hate you,” “I hate my mother,” “I’m about to go postal,” their morose expressions seem to say. On every week on the planet, rather it be in New York, Paris or Milan, models seems to be so upset at “je ne sais quoi”…. But, backstage après-show, a jubilant affability rules. Those stony visages are suddenly enlivened and made beautiful with cheekiness and charm. This is counter-intuitive: when they should be warm and engaging the models are homicidal and bitchy. Once out of sight, they magically turn on the playful allure (except for our ex-Miss World who always show an expression of “I am so happy to be here” but in a sincere way).

Well, after the show, a few TV and newspaper interviews. Li Xiao-Bai, the CEO of New Silk Road got all the attention from the press, as it is his first major show outside of mainland China and because of the diplomatic relationship between both country are warming up lately. Mr Li is a small man but with a big power, he discovered the world most famous model right now called Liu Wen.

Six years ago Liu Wen entered a New Silk Road modeling contest in China to win a computer to use for school. Little did she know it would lead her to the Victoria’s Secret runway in New York.

Wen, who appeared in the Victoria’s Secret fashion show airing on CBS, is the first Victoria’s Secret model of Asian descent to walk the catwalk. Last summer, I tried to introduce Japanese model Michibata Jessica to achieve her dream of being the first Asian Victoria Secret’s angel, but they already had confirmed Liu. Chinese girls are coming in strong, because their economy is the biggest right now. Makes sense….

What I value about Mr Li is that hecares about his models, we are very similar him and I, caring about our talents in a parental way.

Then after it was over, we returned to the Grand Hotel together with the NSR supermodels, including Zhang (Miss World) traveling in a big bus with banners of the models dressed in black showing on the outside of the bus. Quite something!

During the transfer, I spoke with Zhang, she is a very sweet and quite articulated in English. I spoke with her often during my stay in Taipei,. She is elegant and she definitely comes across as is nice and caring young woman. She told me that it was her fourth visit to the island and that winning Miss World has changed her life from a normal girl to a big celebrity in China and that she is very thanksfull for it. She calls the other models at NSR agency “my sisters” when she speaks to me. Very sweet indeed.

Zhang told me that she does not care much about fame if it does not directly benefit people in needs. She said than a large portion of her income from her commercial activities goes straight to charities. Her agency confirmed this fact to me before  actually meet her personally last year, which makes me respect her more as a matter of fact. Kudos to a young woman with a big heart. Actually Riyo Mori is very much like this as well, always motivated and involved in helping others, which is one of the reasons why both of them are winners of course.

Zhang shared that she just finished shooting a movie in Chinese and that it was a great experience. She is the main character also it will make her even more recognizable in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. She endorses of Swarovski, L’Oreal Paris and Omega worldwide. Not bad!

Asami Ferguson and Marie Ooyama both arrived on time for our Onsen experience (hot-spring).

The Flora Expo was our the first stop in Taiwan, for the delegation of supermodels and for ourselves. Then they appeared in a massive fashion show staged in Taichung City and then in Miaoli County they catwalk at the Taiwan Lantern Festival.

I LOOK SO TIRED ON THIS PHOTO, I was working so much and so intensively at that time….. wow! Not sure how I could still have the strength to pose like that to show Akiko how I wanted the filming to look like,,,,,,,

Akiko just emailed me, she often does which is so nice…. she is publihsing her first book, where she describe what she experience while traveling extensivelys around the world since the past 10 years. A true testimony for a young Japanese backpacker and globetrotter.

A woman with a big heart, she laughs loud and cares for others always. That’s how I see her,  when we met it was like a tornado meeting a volcano… women with mind power, who accept no mediocrity.

I have a small question. I recently start walking in high heels again and my shoes is making so loud noise. Since my shoes is pretty brand new and heels are fine, it’s apparently how I walk. Do you actually pay attention not to make too loud noise, especially when you need to walk on staircase? have you got any tips? thanks.

Dear Lisa,

You should see my DVDs definitely because I am explaining all this in it. It does not matter if you make noise. We all make noise when we walk fabulously. It reflects confidence and attitude. If you make no noise at all, it is because you must be wearing a pair of “nothing special shoes”…. Killer shoes should be making noise. I know in Japan, you are not supposed to make noise when you walk, but you should not care… time are changed in Japan. The kimono shoes are over now,,,, everyone wears hills and designer shoes in big cities such as Nagoya, Osaka and Tokyo of course. Also you cannot walk noise-proof anymore. C’est la vie….

But be very careful not to have your shoes missing the hill protection (HARD LITTLE PLASTIC TIP), because this would reflect low class and untidiness. A fabulous woman needs to fix the tip pf her heels each month, if she wears these shoes a lot. Do not make that horrible, cheap & metallic noise … cling cling cling… arrrrrrr!!!! DAMME!

Cross your legs a little when you walk to make your legs look longer. Pretend that you are going to touch the sky with the top of your head. You will have the right balance and will look taller.

• Walking the stairs up and down with style

You should always walk the stairs with the front part of your feet not the back. As well it will shape up your bottom

Here you can see that the shape of her head has been rectified… also her eyes are aligned and lifted.

What she needs is a good hair treatment and a peeling… and she looks almost the same after and before.

I want to talk to you. I’m a high school student. And I have trouble with my classmate.

Until December 2010, I and she were very good friend. But on the middle of Devember, suddenly, she became very cruel and started disregarding me. First, I thought it’s my worrying too much. But even a week later, her attitude wouldn’t be better. So I asked her “Do you have any dissatisfaction on me? Recently, you are a little cruel. And if you have something, I want to apologize to you.” But she answerd “No!! I don’t take an attitude such you say.” If really so, she can’t disregarding me. But I can’t understand the reason, I can’t think about solutions.

My friends are also her friends. We were always chatting making a circle. But now, I can’t join it because her eyes are verrrrrry cold for me. I’m affraid of her eyes. So I’m alone in the classroom. I’m very lonely.
I consulted the best friend. She promised, “I’ll pay deep attention to her and see”. Also, however, she said “I think it’s your worrying too much.”
I can’t believe nobody… I hate myself… I cut my wrist with cutter-knife yesterday evening. I understood that I mustn’t do it. However, I thought the pain in the mind to be forgotten if the body ached.

Ines, what should I do to solve the trouble with her? And, how should I do to love myself??

I just finished reading your comment o my post “I arrived in Taiwan”. My advise is that you must take some distance from your classmate. If you feel she is cold and unfriendly, it is because she is…. trust your feelings they must be right. Do not loose your time with her. They are many other people around you who can be your friend.

REMEMBER that when you loose one friend, it gives you the space to meet another one. A better one. She was not meant to be your friend. Ignore her, move away from her. Look around you for better friends inside your school.

I was in Taiwan and talking about this exact topic while having lunch together with Asami Ferguson (MUJ finalist in 2002 & Miss Earth Japan), Marie Ooyama (Top-10 MUJ finalist in 2010) and Hiroko Mima (Winner MUJ 2003), we were saying that when a friend turns her back on you, you feel deeply sad but that it does not last. Give yourself sometimes, be patient. But again stay away from her. She is for sure jealous of you, also take your distance and do love yourself because you are your own best friend.

It is late, I thought I would be going early to bed and sleep because i am very tired, but guess what i read your message and because you are my friend, because I do care about you, then I am writing back to you right away without hesitating. Also do not think that you are alone or not good enough, because you are good enough and you are not alone. You are very important to me Megumi, I am your friend.
