ON THE GARBAGE TOWN – LES ENFANTS DE LA DECHARGE
I will comment on the pictures later, here with my son Noa waiting for our pick up.
We know it will be a deep emotional day .
I am taking my family to meet children and families who live on the massive dump in the center of Phnom Penh (Cambodia). They work day and night to collect garbage to sell it as recycling goods in order to eat. I wanted my sons to understand that 70% of the world live in powerty so not to be disconnected from reality and to prepare themself to help society, to make a difference in other people life.
My love and respect to Kiv at PSE (Pour un Sourire d’Enfant) and to my brother Philippe.
no child, no-one should be reduced to live like this….
Again, I will comment on the pictures later.
MY HOME, MY TEMPLE
I LOVE THE MORNINGS…. here I am seated at my desk, which is located in the middle of our living room, so that even if i work, I can see what my boys are doing….
I am ready to go out the door, it is 9 am and I have a charity-meeting in town. Before that picture that took my husband, I had fed my boys breakfast, send them to school, checked my emails and put on some clothes. Black was in my mood today, but I mean it in a good way. I felt strong and powerful and in charge. Ready to move mountains for children in needs….
You can see how much I love shoes… I even display them as art on the shelves at home….! look above me on the shelve
Holding my Colto Maltevo python blue-jeans Pricillia New bag http://www.corto.com/.
My desk is so cool….The master peice of my room. It looks like a HUGE traveling suitcase covered with cow skin. I found it in a warehouse, in Hong Kong, 2 years ago, while shopping for furniture, with my friend Noelle Colin.
Next to me, my purple Hawaiianas flip-flops, with a heel, it is new and gives me an extra 3 cm, ah!We need that! Bought them at ION on Orchard outside the MRT. Wearing YSL stilettos shoes (heels of 17 cm!) also my flip-flops are in my bag and when i need a break, I change my YSL for my flats. Magic the trick!
I created a bookshelves next to my desk in a corner also I have my principal documents next to me always, it is very convenient (yes mostly when you wera 17 cm heels at home
!
Okay Kenny because you insisted…. I am late but need to pose for 30 seconds to get that picture…. here we go! Click it is in the camera now, let me go pleaaassseee!!! As you can see I am wearing no make-up yet, had no time, but I will do in the taxi on my way, hope the road will not be bumpy.
I wear all in black: My super-confortabl-YSL plateform-shoes, Arrogant Cat black skinny pants (Victoria Beckam favorite, feeling like Cat Woman), Patrizia Peppe leather belt, MUJI t-shirt, Evil Twin jacket XS size bought at Estination in Roppongi Hills.
Now in order to feel good all morning until lunch this is what I eat:
Fruits, cereals with plain yogurt, honey instead of regular sugar, dried raisins and mixed nuts. A cup of fresh-coffee. (Plus my supplements: multivitamins, vitamin C 1000 cc and fish oil).
VOILA!!! ENERGY IN MY PLATE!
Thanks Maria for the photos!
Well now,,,,, do you want to visit the rest of my new home?
we moved in last month and I just finished decorating it.
Great, okay then, follow me….. here my LIVING ROOM
Lightning is my passion. I bought these Buddha-fingers lamps, made of huge bamboos, in Thailand, the wallpaper is from England, it imitates leopard skin, and it looks so real that everyone goes straight to touch it! Its like an immediate irresistible reaction!
I chose everything myself, no decorator at all, I do not have the money for that…. I order directly from the factories. It was fun. Thanks to Gek, my constructor, who got it attached to the walls!
The big chunky Chinese cabinets are great to hide voluminous things that I don’t use everyday, like pillows, boxes with CDs and DVDs, cables etc…. I chose it red and it faces the entrance of the home so that it brings good luck, I follow the Fung Shui since I lived in Hong Kong!
The corner where my desk is, has one wall covered with a zebra pattern. The wooden box holds my cigars, it was a gift for my birthday from my friend Regis Verin already 10 years ago.
this light is made of hard straws, I bought it in Thailand as well, the handcrafting work over there is spectacular!
see it close*
The light shines gently throughout the straws. It is beautiful and peaceful at night.
I have a lot of wood and stones inside my home. I love the natural feeling that it brings to our daily life. It is real, natural, unpretentious but majestic.(Nolan sofa by Minotti).
The 2 monsters are a gift from my dearest friend Noelle Colin. They are of Takeshi Murakami Japanese superstar-artist, my favorite. They have moved again with us to our new home. I gave them a big of freshness by changing the frame around them.
I chose a big size frame in silver-gold, in order to match the lamps, but still creating a slight contrast.
I like to mix gold and silver together, like in the 2 bowls below.
next to the entrance/exit, I installed a few silver-laminated shelves to display our designer shoes. to me they are ART. Also why hiding them in a closet, when i can look at them everyday? People display family and friends framed pictures normally, but I find it boring, conservative, non-creative and totally deja-vu.
I have many albums at home where i hold my family and friends pictures. I prefer it this way. I often open them and look at them with a big smile on my face. those are the little things I do to make me happy. We all live far away from each others, sometimes it is hard to stay in touch. But, luckily I have the memory of an elephant also i always remember thousand of special moments with my friends and my family. the albums are my back-up memory, like a print-external-drive.
Topshop, 3 Gucci sandals, Celine, Gucci & Chloe boots
below all Gucci FW 2011 (Yes I am a fan!)
and… my husband’s shoes.
The entrance with my 2 warrior-bodyguards
The view is breathtaking beautiful. I feel like a bird ready to fly to the world each day. It is sunny almost every day and living inside a blue sky is really energizing.
Under the seat on the left, I hide our razors (skateboard-scooter) and inside the blue Chinese cabinet there are our everyday shoes. super-convenient!
oh! more shoes!!…. these are my ultimate glamorous boots by Gucci, last winter collection, I bought them in black and in beige. They reach to the top of my leg, it feels like wearing stockings. (hum, actually to be totally honest this is because i am 10 cm too short:)
I have 2 glass cabinets in my living room, where i am supposed to display art, this is my art.
Below, opposite side is my other glass cabinet with the black boots inside
Again I mixed silver and gold among the frames.
The 2 Chinese family paintings I bought in an art gallery Beijing during the Olympic Games. They are an authorized reproduction. I love the strictness they displayed, and the colors that the artist chose. A beautiful contrast. Almost like there is a projection of light on the children and their parents faces.
I juxtaposed 6 Ikea frames, 5 with the name of each of the members of our family, Ken, Ines, Ben, Luca & Noa, and 1 frame with the countries where we have a nest. (my hand writing on a A4 size white paper). Simple but personal.
I semi-divided the living room and the dining area with 2 Roberto Cavalli black-lacquer dividers on which I display books and silver serving items.
The book PORTRAITS by Mario Testino was a fabulous gift from the students of my INES SECRET dvds when we filmed. Each of them wrote me a personal message. I love having it part of my life, in front of my eyes, close to my heart. It was one of the best experience, memory of my life working with all of you for 8 weeks. All of you are in my heart, I keep you warm.
Now inviting you to my Dining ROOM
This is where we eat breakfast and diner in family. It is a place where we talk, we laugh, we share what happened to us during the day while eating diner. European style, eating good food in family is really important to us. And we love having friends for diner or lunch as well, also this room is the heart of our home.
Above us: my special guests… they are models and actresses with whom I worked in the past and at the present. They have an eye on me when I eat (…) when I try to reach for an extra slice of bread, I can see Madonna looking at me and saying -”hey girl, what are you doing?! You had enough bread already. Go to the gym instead!”
They had strong influences in my life, they are women with charisma, sense of style and beauty. I bought the frames at Ikea and chose the pictures among some of the Mario Testino portraits. Oops, if you are wondering… yes, they are missing inside the book now, but I see them on my wall.
The wall is covered in grey-stone wallpaper bought in the UK as well. The multiple suns are made of wood covered with a slim layer of pure gold. The console is made of wood and carved from its natural shape. I found both of Thailand.
WOOD CREATES THE MOOD – I love the massive wood in that particular room, it is BIG, imposing, almost intimidating, just like the nature itself can make you feel sometimes. Powerless. A microscopic element within the element. I find it utterly sexy, masculine and powerful.
I bought these lights the others day, on Ballester road in Singapore. I felt in love immediately when I spotted them inside the shop. The inside has a bright-gold color, but it does not show clearly on the pictures, too bad. I like the modern-Asian influence of these lights. One word: peaceful.
The kitchen
My pretty maid Lyn, (part Indian-Filipina & part fabulosa). We are so lucky to have her at home, she is hard worker (amazing!) and always happy, she is a sunshine into our home. Welcome to our family Lyn! We are a loving family and we will take care of you.
You want to see more?… okay then follow me to the bedrooms… but please remove your shoes!
Luca’s bedroom. See Marina Sands Bay in the corner? So majestic.
Mamiko we framed the clown finally!
Noa’s bedroom Thanks Roxanne for the fab-painting!
and now, my bedroom, my sanctuary.
The painting: “The story of my life”
This painting is actually my wedding anniversary gift to my husband. On December 29th we will celebrate 15 years together, yeah! I gave my gift yesterday and put it n the wall in advance (well, it was hard to hide it from it!)
I choose some pink colors, because I wanted to have a touch of sensuality and femininity in our intimate room. It keeps the romance going (if you see what I mean jelly-bean).
The most important thing in a couple is happening in the bedroom, with closed doors. You can be fighting outside, but we must always remember that in bed, we must be loving.
From the bedroom, at night it is truly spectacular, because the Marina Bay Sands has a laser show going on… and the downtown district with its tall buildings, is shining like a Christmas tree. Cool breeze,,,,,
Part of the view from my bedroom. Feel like flying, right!?
My closets********
MY BATHROOM. On the left corner a photo with my Mother, I wrote on it: “Tu es belle Maman” (You are beautiful Mommy) and I place it next to me everyday since 2000! I love you Maman!
My little fashion friends, aren’t they funky?! I love this painting found in Singapore by a Chinese artist.
Much love to everyone. I hope that I gave you some fun ideas for decorating your home, remember it has to be fun! A home can make us feel happy or sad….. make the right choice when you buy decoration items.
My next post will be about my secrets to be more pretty…. cosmetics, vitamins for the skins, spa techniques etc. Stay tuned!
Love, love and more love to you all at AMEBA!

BEING A MOTHER……..
Christmas time, celebrating at school… Noa had a play and I promised to go watch him, he was so happy having his Dad and his Mom being there for him. So cute!
Of course as always, Ken my dear husband, was snapping pictures. And of course, everyone was looking back at us…. because he was calling me with his big voice: -“INES! INES! turn around!”
oh I know the trick, just to make him stop: turn, and make a silly smile for a few second. Click!
Now he will leave me alone for a few minutes… pffff….
OOPS, my Just Cavalli top makes my boobies look like they are ready to pop-out! Must be careful. Actually thanks to this picture, I might wear a jacket next time I go to my kids school. Or maybe not, who cares?! If you don’t like it, then don’t look, my kind of policy…. my freedom of boobs expression!
The boy in Noa’s class who was supposed to play the main role got sick, and also my son with his friend had to replace him and to learn a huge script within an hour time. Good job kiddies! I invite you for a beer after school hours, I promise. Hum, maybe not. Moms will hate me more… but I don’t care, ’cause Dads love me! AHHHH just kidding!
Remember when being a woman/a wife/ a Mother was as simplistic as this…?
ahhhh!
I AM WATCHING NOW…. MODERN FAMILY
I started watching the MODERN FAMILY Season 3 at home on DVDs. It is the best series ever created. Totally hilarious. You must watch it!!!
It is about:
When three families agree to be interviewed by a documentary crew, they have no idea just how much they’re about to reveal about themselves.
They are one big family composed of 3 couples
One “typical” couple with 2 kids, boy and girl.
one gay-male couple with 1 child adopted in China
and the Father/Grand-Father, remarried to a young gorgeous Colombian woman, with a child from her previous marriage.
Again absolutely fabulous and hilarious. A MUST watch from Season one (the best)
